1. about 70% of earth is covered with marine water , fresh water , ground water , glaciers , underground reservoirs etc. 

2. The global carbon cycle either it is carbon dioxide or other carbon related compound , about 71% of global carbon found dissolved in oceans.

    

            

3. The huge marine life performs about 80% of photosynthesis ( a process of making food by autotrophs) . Done by algae

4. The deepest spot on Earth is also under the ocens i.e.., MARIANA TRENCH  which 10 km deep means that it can take the whole MT. EVEREST under its deep depths.

5. Oceans support a wide variety of organisms from small to big , from surface to its deep depths , of different colours and shapes.some are here -

8.The first life originated 3.5 billion years ago in oceans.  After  long times all the creatures seen by our eyes or even some are not are originated in the sea water after a long period of evolution.

9. Some benthic(in the depths of ocean) are even unaware of the source of light they perform all their basic requirements in dark.

10. Oceans never keep the dead bodies of its native organisms . It swepts out all the dead bodies even it is shark , tortoise etc. We can't see smaller organisms because they get swallowed by the greater ones.
